D.I.Y Making Your Own Paper Gaskets
So this isn't needed as much for the RSX but I've had to make my own gasket many times in cases of emergency or price or patience...
In my case now I pulled apart my supercharger and some of the gaskets didn't come off without breaking. So now I was left to make my own gaskets. Its very simple to do. Here is what I'm starting with
Things needed:
-Old gaskets or remains of
-New Gasket roll of material
-Scissors
-Pen
-Sharp Blade
Here is the gasket material I will be using. It was the closest thing to what came on the charger. Make sure you pick out the material closest to what came off. I bought this at Advanced Auto
First thing is unroll the gasket material and flatten it out. I then took the old gasket and traced around it
Then obviously take the scissors and cut out the initial pattern
Now take your sharp knife and cut slits in the center hole
This way you can fit the scissors in to be able to cut out the center like so
Now my lest favorite part... use the knife to trim out the small holes that the bolts will be going through
Now mock it up and trim off any parts over cut or under cut and etc
Now put it together!
Now that was easy because that gasket only had a small break... but here I broke the gasket in three places! So first I aligned the biggest piece
Then aligned as best I could the next biggest piece
And finally for the small corner left I just flipped over the big piece and copied it. Unfortunately though the holes are the same. So for the hole placement I just moved the old gasket to where the hole was and traced it in. Now cut it out like the other gasket and mock it up!
Then cut out the holes!
You've now officially made your own gaskets!
