i have a 2002 civic si ep3 HATCH with the k20a2 swap in it...

After taking apart my dash (radio, shifterboot and ****, and the center console)...
well i see nothing that is broken after taking off the console and the radio and taking all that out. the shifter and shifterconsole is still in there...which is attached to the cables.

the left cable seems to be FLOATING FEELY and the right one has tension.


its weird cause i got it into gear and now it wont come out....i dont know what to do now but after taking off and putting on that plastic piece with the snap pins on...i got it into gear BUT DOESNT WNT TO COME OUT OF GEAR!

SLAVE CYLINDER?
SHIFT CABLES?
GREASING MAYBE ON WHERE THAT BALL IS ON BOTTOM OF SHIFTER?




i know one of you guys said i may be under the hood...why would that be?


i see the cable go from the floor under neath the car to the trans....will i have to drop trans and motor to get the cables off (on the other end of the cables that is)?

i got pics just dont know how to post attachments since we cant.

yeah,,cuz it went from feeling FREE FLOATING with no tension or resistance on the shift **** ..to ... being stuck in 4th.

i unbolted those 4 main bolts to loosen shift console so i can maybe take it out and inspect or get the cables out...(shifter cables that is)...and i disconnected the top two cables and then connected them again and started playing with it and got it into gear and now wont come out :O

actually, the left shift cable is bad. anyone know where i can find a CHEAP shifter cable?

also, how do i replace them exactly

ok. so I DID get the car up and running. come to find out the other end of the shift cables was not connected(somehow the cotter pin backed itself out and wasnt connected,hence the free floating feeling in shifter.

but now, back to my original problem i was having,

its not shifting into 1st or 2nd . its not even letting me go to the left to shift into 1st or 2nd.

can anyone help out with input? thanks again
