I'd like to buy your Type R please
Here I am in early April and I've missed several really nice cars because of communication lag so I figured I'd be proactive.
I'm trying to get myself an R as a present to myself for turning 40 ( I know I'm super old).
I'm a Honda Guy, through and through my current daily driver (pictured below) is a tastefully modded 2013 Sedan Si.
Your Type R (if you sell it to me) will never see rain or salt, it will always be locked away in my garage at night. It will be driven "enthusiastically" but it won't be beaten on or tracked. It will also never be disrespected with cheap mods or Rota wheels.
What I'd really like is:
-Ideally bone stock or as close to stock as possible
-Ideally under 40,000 miles
-Zero winters (zero road salt exposure)
Location is not a factor (for the right car I'll fly to Texas / or Miami / or Cali / or Vancouver BC etc...)
I've missed several nice, low mileage 1 or 2 owner cars and thats really what I'm after.
I could care less about color (black / yellow / white )
I'm not a monkey, I have both bought and sold cars on forums before / I'm 40 (meaning I'm not a 20yr kid thats sketchy) and I have a price in my head of what I know they are actually selling for in the condition I'm after.
Give me a chance to buy myself a 40th birthday present and give your Type R a good (next) home.
Regards
Will

ITS A FRONT! HE REALLY IS 20!
hahaha. I kid I kid. Glad to see that over a range of cars I'm sure you have driven, the R sticks out after "all these years". Your criteria is a tad tight for whats out there at this moment, but if you stay vigilant on the search I'm sure one will pop up.
With the specs your looking for, the person who owns it will for sure know what it's worth and I'm guessing your going to be in the ~$18k range IMO.
Not sure if that black one is still floating around. 51k miles I think, 99% stock, and was around $16k.
Good luck and if anything pops up that you miss I will try to post it up here for ya!

The most recent one I missed was outside Chicago at Bob Lindsay Acura (1 owner / black / 33,000 miles / extensive service history / $19k asking(no idea what it went for) )
That car looked mint - mint - mint, and with being 1 owner and such low mileage it would have been easily a $16k car to me ( thats what the dealer said it went for)

I almost bought this one, but decided to go with a yellow one instead. It's pretty much the only stock one with low miles available right now.

Plus it says zero winters but some of the pictures are taken in winter and the engine looks salt corroded in spots.
You must have bought the Yellow one in Rochester NY with 55K? , you beat me to it by days (I had been back and forth with that dude for weeks)
Hope its treating you well.
Cheers

I've talked to him and seen some more detailed pictures that show some serious rash to the front and rear bumpers.

The Edmunds 98 went for ~25k. To give you an idea of what a really mint one goes for to the right person.
Good luck with your search.

Re: I'd like to buy your Type R please
I was selling my 2000 py for awhile. I took a break from it and drove around a 400 hp STI, and one weekend I took the R out for a drive.... I promptly sold the STI, and went back to daily driving the R. No matter how much faster a car is nothing can compare to the performance and fun of the Type R. I'll never try and sell mine again. Good luck with your search.

^ The third one is an excellence buy. If one purchase it and sell off the 2.0 built engine for $3K. He or she then end up with an original '97 ITR for only $13K

Where are you located? In Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - have a CW 2001 with approx 25,000 km's on it. Been open to selling it for years - never been given the right offer.
