Re: SHG tries wRong Wheel Drive...SHG_Mike's S2000 Build
Theresa, owner and driver of the DC5 is a Member at TSMP which allowed some of us to run with them as guests. So a day after hitting the road the S got some track time :drive:
Street impressions of the car were fantastic. The new ATS gearing is on point, the exhaust while drones like crazy sounds AMAMZING, the intake in vtec is louder than the exhaust o_0, and the Ohlins are as phenomenal as everyone says.
Its quite amazing how stable the car is now with the ohlins. The car now feels more like a direct connection to my inputs and I could put the car exactly where and how I wanted. I could keep things simple with a slight push or trail brake deep and back into the corner nice and loose.
The curbs at TSMP are quite tall and abrupt, but I could still use and attack them with these dampers without issue or upsetting the car. The transition from the new course into the oval used to break the rear loose a bit, but now I can barely tell the difference between the two surfaces. I am now in complete agreement with Andrewhake in that with a proper damper and a square tire, the S2000 needs at least a square spring bias. Steady state the car pushes and unless I am real harsh with lifting the throttle or trail braking as I said earlier its hard to adjust the nose of the car. My FWD civic were looser than this car now :p. This was a surprise as I also re installed the oem AP1 bar that I removed last year.
I will be installing a eibach rear bar to attempt to stiffen the rear up to get the balance I am looking for. I will also say I would like to have more adjustment range in the dampers, so I will be revalving this winter. I still have the rest of the year to test but I will guess I will end up in the 700-800lb/in square relm.
On to some action shots...
I had a great time giving rides to all the SHG homies who came out to help and support the DC5
After calling it a day with the DC5 Evan took out his civic and we had some fun for a session or two...
Big thanks to everyone who came out and help out this past weekend and had positive things to say about the car. It makes all the hard work worth it.
Shout out to SHG_Claudio and SHG_Token for the media coverage.

Huge thanks for the ride along Mike, that was an awesome experience and gave me a good idea as to which line to follow around the track when I get out there myself
The new aero upgrades also make the car look great and the car feels excellently put together. That exhaust sound oh lawdd!

Great updates guys, it's great to see not only the cars you lot have but also the comradery you lot share with each other. It's similar to myself and my 6two1 friends in the UK, but I think we are a few years behind you lot yet.
I might be buying an S2000 tomorrow, I am very excited.
