Oh, how I yearn for the Honda of the 80's and 90's, when their cars were cool.

Are we considering the car honda ACTUALLY RACED a 2nd gen NSX? The one that is "production ready" that they made a few of that they didnt even bother painting the carbon fiber on it?

So, I think that most people who've seen the NSX have not really seen the car that the world will end up with.

Re: Can I Ask a Dumb NSX Question (2015)?
Are you aware that such an engine is being developed, or are you just hoping like the rest of us?
I have not seen anything anywhere saying that the J37 bottom end was being used or scheduled to be used with the direct injection head design. It's easy to get 320 HP out of the J35 direct injection motor, normally aspirated and without any extra stress, and I'd have thought that using the direct injection heads on the J37 bottom end would be a few years away.
But, I'm just guessing of course.
And how many direct injection J Motors have you had to take apart for oil consumption issues? :-)

Although it's logical to expect such a creature, you're the first person who has said "J37 Earth Dreams" in public. :-)

Isn't it suppose to have not 1 but three electric motors? Rear engine, front motor, plus two extra motors that mostly assist with steering at high speeds?
I really like this idea.

The engine block will have a J Motor code, although it is fair to call it all new, I suppose. They're calling the J35Y4 310 HP motor "new" but it's very clearly a J block with a lot of new parts including a completely redesigned head.

Re: Can I Ask a Dumb NSX Question (2015)?
If I have read correctly about the vehicle as of late, the new NSX is supposed to have its very own V6 engine, and not one based on any of its other cars, I think it will have a 90 degree angle and then of course DOHC and twin turbo. One thing to consider is Honda may very well develop this engine based on its new 2015 Formula 1 engine. Being at its core an engineering company, I like to think Honda has more up their sleeve with this car (stating the obvious I guess), especially with the hybrid setup. This car is to important to them to not make it an excellent work of engineering.
Can't wait for this car!

I was sort of answering the post above me and just putting in my speculation for the heck of it, but I guess we could be talking about different NSX's.

Re: Can I Ask a Dumb NSX Question (2015)?
There is also speculation that Honda will make a convertible version of the NSX to come out in 2017 or something. Perhaps the "baby" NSX rumors have turned into that instead. Making a baby NSX seems odd, might as well just make an S2000 successor... but no matter I just hope the new NSX is great
I kinda doubt the NA trim and turbo trim options, but it would be nice to have the variety.

Yea, I do not know about 2016, I think every bit of news on the NSX, even Honda, say it will be out 2015.
