Can't get front wheel off!!??
Hi Accord Gurus,
I just bought a used 95 Accord Coupe LX and have started to dive in and do routine maintenance. Just ran into a problem getting the front wheel off to rotate tire with back one. Got all the lug nuts off but wheel won't budge. Also, the inner area of the front rims looks different than rear. Is there something simple I am overlooking?
Thx.

My front passenger tire usually gets stuck like that. I grab a 2x4, put it against the inside of the tire on the bottom and hit it with a hammer/sledgehammer.

Put the lug nuts back on loosely about a 1/16th of an inch from the wheel lug seat.
In your driveway start the car backing up a few feet brake hard put in drive roll a few feet brake hard again. Do this a few times and the wheel will break free of the hub.
When done smear anti-seize on the hub so this won't happening again.
DO NOT KICK the wheel from under the car unless the ER sounds like a great place to spend your money.

Did you listen to drumstep ? Won't work otherwise with the rubber mallet, they are fussy
Anyway.... Sure there way a thread somewhere recently with a pic of how to do it. i'll go look.

The wheel fits over the hub with very little extra room. This is the self-centering mechanism and is good to ensure proper centering, obviously, and proper torque of the lug nuts. The slightest bit of corrosion can make the wheel difficult to remove.
As was stated, use an object, preferably inanimate, and beat the **** out of the wheel. It will fall off.
Additionally, when it is removed, clean and lubricate the surfaces of the hub and wheel. This will prevent the problem in the future.

Nicefeet thanks for a brilliantly SIMPLE idea.
Before posting the other day I was smackin the you-know-what outta the tire with my mini sledge. Even drenched the lugs with PB Blaster. Sucker would not come loose. Followed your suggestion: I loosened the lug nuts, then finger-tightened, then loosened one turn (about 1/16th"). Got in the car and drove back and forward in driveway hitting the brakes hard. Jacked the car back up and gave one good kick with my heel on the tire and she cracked loose. Made sure to put a thin layer of Permatex Anti-Sieze on back on rim to avoid this stupid problem in the future.
THANKS AGAIN NICEFEET.
