heh those are HTR-Z II's in the OP, right? My 16" wheels had those on them when I bought them. They were okay for a bit, but the Yokohama ES100's I put on after it were tons better.

Thank you for the photos. The proof is in the pudding: there is no account for taste, and God knows there are people out there that like the look of stretched tires, but it DEFORMS a product that well-paid engineers spent countless hours and tons of money designing it and testing it.

I highly doubt the market for stretched tires will be big enough for them to ever spend the money on R&D for that.I am in the same boat as everyone else in this thread.I specifically want my tires to work properly and the stretched look is just not something I like.

Well yeah. But safety is such a HUGE aspect of passenger car tire R&D, since death is certainly likely in the event of tire failure, that manufacturers just aren't going to risk trying to design something that looks like it's being "stretched" beyond its limits.
