^^^^ What he said lol... 30R's are really loud IMO.
Another way is to run your wastegate dump (if you have one) into the downpipe at the sacrafice of some power.

a 30r is pretty loud as it is when spooling up... you can hear the turbo spool alot louder than a 35/37r...
Another thing you could so is run a mic next to your turbo and run speakers on the outside of your car so you can amplify the turbo spool so everything can know you got a turbo.. You might as well run a mic to the bov so you can hear a loud pshhhhhhhhhh noise when you let off the throttle in between shifts..

The turbo sound is going to be partially dependent on your intake setup. No filter, like in the video, will be louder than running an intake tube and filter

Re: how can i get louder turbo sound
i have long time test witout a air filter on the turbocharger and result ist the same (no turbo sound)
my wastegate is normal going to the back into the exhaust systeme.
and a run still the car with a 3 zoll exhaust syteme and no g-kat ?
i buy a neu turbocharger with high flow casing like garrett ore turbonetics.
ore change my casing site of the turbo and install a high flow ?

Slot and port your compressor cover and modify it to become an anti-surge housing. You can drill holes like some housings, or T04Z/HKS T51R style inlet.
Cut the slot at the tip of the compressor exducer, and start with the narrowest slot (high pitch), and keep widening it until you get the lower note. If you widen the slot too much and the wheel doesn't deliver enough air velocity, then you lose the sound again and it will become a low note woosh.

Re: how can i get louder turbo sound
i have noticed the better my car is tuned the more hp the better it runs the less the turbo sound is. My first build sounded like a jet, i had no exhaust, no tune stock ecu (because i was a dumb *** in 2000), boost leaks on ever pipe then the engine blew. I built the engine same turbo tuned with afc still sounded like a jet. As i learned more and more about turbos and tuning the sound has went away. Still got the same turbo used it on 4 builds and its on my car now it is quite barely notice its turboed. It is a 57 trim turbonetics got to be the most reliable turbo i ever owned. By the way have the same turbo as the video on a car and its not even loud.

Re: how can i get louder turbo sound
stopsign32 you know what man first off i dont have a street worrior no filter and no muff means more power if you didnt know that now you do.
the loud whistling sound of a turbo doesnt do anything for performance, but it make you look good infront of your friends wich would lead me to beleive its not about performance but more the impression. as long as the boost gage reads what you have it set at the sound of he turbo isnt an issue.
you have issues with me then pm me

Re: how can i get louder turbo sound
true if engine is running effecient the turbo wont be as loud less backpressure on the compressor from good flowing engine. when i went from ls head to vtec head the same turbo i can barely hear it now
