95 Accord overheats when idling and the fans don't come on when i turn the a/c on.
I know this has been on here several times before, but i just wanted to start fresh. My car overheats and the weather hasn't been that hot out. I have a 95 accord 4cyl. v tech 2.2 w/ 160k miles on it. I just replaced the fan switch and still nothing. Even when i turn the heat/a/c on the fans don't budge, but when the car is off the passenger side fan will turn on, but only when the car is off. I've had the car for about 10 years and been great w/ the exception of a new trans snd now this. I'm sorry to have to make old threads new again, but i really need help. Thanks

Also, when ppl say jump the fan, should i use a 10 gauge wire or will any do? And just hook + to + and - to - on the battery. I know its a dumb question, but i am as green as green can get.... Thanks

It is located at the left kick panel. Look at the driver side and the your left foot rester. You should be able see a removeble panel on the left side. The fuse box is under that panel.

Then, check the A/C diode which is located above the left kick panel and looks like the attached pic. Make sure there is current flow from A to B. You can test it by using a multimeter.
If the A/C diode is ok, you might need to test the Radiator Fan Control Module which should be located behind the glove box (not really sure). If you need to test it, post message back and I will post the test procedure.

ok, i had radiator replaced a year ago and the thermostat. the thing is the radiator doesn't look like its well made(kinda small and rinky dink looking) and the thermostat is prolly aftermarket. I don't have a multimeter. How much are they and good place to get 1?

I am not sure if you checked the ECT switch A. It is on the thermostat housing. When turning the ignition switch to on (II position), jump the GRN wire of switch to ground, the passenger side fan should be on. If it is on, you need to replace this switch.

Ground to the chassis, Something that is bare metal attached to the frame.

Thank You guys, i fixed it. It was the second fan switch. There are 2 of them 1 on the water crossover housing and 1 on the thermostat housing. The one on the thermostat housing was bad.

Oh and my fan relays were corroded so i used brakefluid to clean them real good and the connectors aswell. Worked like a charm.
