Welder Mig / Which is the best bang for your buck for at home running off 110v
I am looking to get a good mig welder. At once time I owned the EL CHEAP O Harbor Freight 110 Flux Core no gas welder. Man did it suck, it was one of the most worse investment. It was only good for sheet metal work, like doing shaved door handels etc... I tried to weld up some mild steel that was 1/4 thick and just wouldn't hold a weld... So whats one of the best affordable mig that will run off 110v. Also that will do most fab work, like headers, turbo manifolds etc?

The only welder I have used that ran off of 110v that didn't suck in huge ways was the millermatic 135. And yes you could weld headers and downpipes with it, but if you really want it to look nice buy a tig. But for general auto fab its gonna be hard to beat a miller 135 I have a miller 175 but I find I don't use it anymore now that I have my own tig.

okay i guess everyone has differences in manufactures. what should I look for in a descent mig welder besides just gas hook up. Now as I said just the normal 110/120 outlet. AMPS? Also a friend suggest I use co2 for the gas shielding.

Re: (90blackcrx)
TIG??? I am asking about Mig welders. Everyone has given me what they personal own. I've been checking the specs with each other. And I guess this is what I have compiled.
Gas Hookup
125 to 135amp max
110/120v

Been using my friend's lincoln 100, no complaints so far, mainly welding exhaust piping(16 ga) so far, just started about a couple of weeks ago.
