The heat shield rattle sounds like loose marbles shaken around in a metal bucket. Quite unmistakable and annoying.

I have no idea what the squeaking sound might be.

The upper and lower heat shields will eventually rust out, at which point one can either replace them or drive without them. I've replaced them on my cars, but I did not on my mother-in-law's car....

The only light I know that can be either red or green is a specialized type of LED. It consists of two diodes that conduct in opposite directions encapsulated in the same case. It glows red or green...

The catalytic converter covers are inexpensive and easy to replace.
I think I've read that their principal purpose is to guard against thermal shock to the converter core if the vehicle encounters...
