Re: 2002 Power Steering Pump Outlet Differences

Hey Smackin thanks for the reply.

I was going to do the same thing - reroute the hose. But in one direction is was too close to the belt pulley. And in the other direction it tended to collapse...

2002 Power Steering Pump Outlet Differences

I am replacing the power steering pump on my 2002 due to a very loud bearing noise. When I went to do so however, I discovered that the outlet on the pump where the return hose connects is in a...

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

It's still doing fine. And I like dealing with this outfit - you can always call and talk to Tim if you have any questions.

Re: Removed & Replaced Driver's Seat Belt - Now SRS Light Is On

Thanks man. I was able to resolve my issue by re-seating the connector at the seat belt and then performing the reset procedure at the fuse panel.

Removed & Replaced Driver's Seat Belt - Now SRS Light Is On

So I removed the driver's side seat belt to have it re-tensioned. When I re-installed it, the SRS light was on.

But I am unable to reset it.

I am familiar with the process of shorting the pins...

Re: Removed Drivers Seat - Now SRS Light Is On

I did not disconnect the battery before removing the seat. That was my mistake.

I did some googling and saw there was a recall for the seat wobble. Rather than go that route, I just used washers...

Re: Removed Drivers Seat - Now SRS Light Is On

I got it.

I re-checked that connector, sprayed it with Deoxit - and reseated it. Then when I did the reset procedure under the dash, the light successfully reset.

Thanks for the help tech8!

Re: Removed Drivers Seat - Now SRS Light Is On

I did the SRS reset procedure using the jumper wire. It completes successfully - it flashes twice at the end, but then it comes right back on solid. So it appears to be a hard fault.

I scanned and...

Removed Drivers Seat - Now SRS Light Is On

I removed the driver's seat on my 02 CRV to fix the "seat wobble". Everything is back and harnesses plugged in and I have the SRS light on now.

I had removed this seat once before in an...

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

Yes I did the same thing with the upper radiator support etc. But I still took the compressor out the bottom - ha. Guess I didn't need to.

It's only been a couple of days, but this new...

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

Well the new compressor is in and the system is cooling well.

After having done this now, I will say that it is easier than I thought it would be. And IMO it is definitely worth the extra 15...

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

I briefly debated going with a bigger belt, but my belt is new and I didn't feel like going through whatever trial and error (and expense) it would take to figure out what size to get.

I can only...

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

It's actually correct. It bolts up just fine. The pulley is just the wrong size.

I ordered an OE style scroll compressor from a supplier in Arizona. The owner called me to tell me that he...

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

I will check it tomorrow. I don't THINK the compressor itself is bad. It is not the OEM unit - it was replaced at some point before me. And this current failure happened while I was driving. ...

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

Yes the guy at the shop up the street is going to evacuate it for me.

I did not try to turn the compressor itself (should I?). The pulley spins ok with the engine running.

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

Well I confirmed that the thermal fuse is not open. I cleaned the ground connection and I am reading a dead open at the clutch coil. So I just ordered a new compressor.

I notice that the piston...

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

I did go ahead and test at the plug using a headlight bulb as a load - the high beam side which draws 5 amps.

It shined nice and bright and steady when the AC was turned "on".

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

Yeah it's not open circuited, but way high. I'm thinking I've gone far enough though. (Thoughts?)

Regarding a replacement compressor I was going to go with a Denso, but apparently they don't...

Re: 2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

Thanks guys for the feedback.

I unplugged the connector and I have 14.45v (alternator voltage) at the connector on-and-off with the AC switch.

I can't imagine I need to go any further. Time to...

2002 CR-V AC Compressor Question

The AC on my 2002 CR-V died the other day. It had been working fine for the year or so that I've had it.

The light on the dash comes on as well as the condenser fans. I removed the front splash...

Re: 2002 CR-V AWD Front Outer CV Boot Replacement

Re: 2002 CR-V AWD Front Outer CV Boot Replacement

I was able to get the boot on, and I THINK it might work. My concern was (and still is somewhat) the clearance of the outer "rib". It is quite close to the knuckle.
