Re: 96 Integra intermittent stalling problem

Sorry for not replying sooner. I did get it fixed finally. There were 2 issues. The main relay was bad after all, but it wasn't from solder joints. One of the contacts inside was burned pretty bad....

Re: 96 Integra intermittent stalling problem

I checked it at the recommended 68-70° F and it was right in the middle of the spec ranges. Do you think it's possible when it gets to operating temp, it doesn't put out enough voltage?

96 Integra intermittent stalling problem

I just picked up a 96 Integra SE, all stock and unmolested, a few weeks ago and it is having a random stalling issue. It runs and drives awesome otherwise. The only narrowing down I have done is it...

Re: Pure Acetone For MPG???

Well, if you have a dyno that I could use for free, I would love to see if my butt dyno is accurate or not.

Re: Pure Acetone For MPG???

I have tried a couple "additives" before. I have never run straight acetone mixed in before, but I did make something with 2 oz of high end 2 stroke oil, 1 oz of acetone, and 1/2 oz of xylene. Didn't...

Re: my 1997 civic is making a sound when i turn my lights on?

If the idle is around 2000 rpm when the transmission acts funny, I would definitely say the high idle is to blame. If it acts like that all the time, it could be the clutch not disengaging all the...

Re: d16z6 swap in a 2000 civic dx HELP?

The idle bouncing could be a number of things. FITV, IACV, vacuum leak, air bubble in coolant. Speaking of coolant, does it get to normal operating temp, or does it maybe run cold? Have you tested...

Re: cold engine squeal?

Pull the PS belt completely off and start it after sitting overnight. I bet your noise will go away. If it does, your pump is likely bad. If not, shut it off and pull another belt off. If the sound...

Re: upside down si lights?

OP never stated which year he was talkin about. I have seen white top/red bottom EK tail lights, eBay special. But EG SIs are white top/red bottom, right?

Re: my 1997 civic is making a sound when i turn my lights on?

If you have an OReillys near you, take in your driver license and they will loan you their scanner. At least they do where I'm at. IACVs are easy enough to clean, either way though. My 97 had one, it...

Re: Uncorking a 93 Civic VX - I want to open the airflow a little bit

VX= VTEC-E, DX= non VTEC. The E stands for efficiency or economy. All other 16 valve Honda engines operate on 16 valves all the time, VTEC-E uses 12 until 2.5k-3k RPM.

Re: my 1997 civic is making a sound when i turn my lights on?

Sounds normal. The headlights will increase electrical load on the alternator which will increase the load on the engine. IIRC, the ELD will tell the ECU to compensate for the load by bumping the...

Re: D16Z6 Cutting out/bogging problem

Any other suggestions? Fuel pump screen looks brand new even with 200k+ miles. And just like clockwork, the problem is back. Not quite as bad, it picks back up a little quicker, but its still doin...

Re: D16Z6 Cutting out/bogging problem

Ok, Z6 throttle body didn't change anything. Fuse 15 is good. The Ignition 40 amp fuse under the hood looked a little corroded inside, so I changed that. I tested the coil for the 10th time, and...

Re: D16Z6 Cutting out/bogging problem

I'll try the Z6 throttle body and check fuse 15 when I get home. The alternator belt is tight. And no CELs and the light comes on when you first turn the key. I noticed when I was driving it last...

Re: Uncorking a 93 Civic VX - I want to open the airflow a little bit

He doesn't wanna swap guys. He wants a little more out of his current engine. That's like telling someone with a stock B18C1 that wants a little more power to swap in a K. If you wanna get a little...

Re: FAQ: Civic HX D16Y5 + Alternate OEM ECUs = No

And as far as boosting a stock HX, you might be able to get away with using the stock ecu if you don't boost over like 6 psi. But you can't tune the stock HX ecu so it's not recommended. Best bet...

Re: FAQ: Civic HX D16Y5 + Alternate OEM ECUs = No

The D16Y5 shares the same head casting as a Y8 so its a good possibility that you have the correct head on your block. It is supposed to be ran with an OBD2 P2N ecu.

Re: D16Z6 Cutting out/bogging problem

Small update! I decided to recheck everything and reroute some wires and cooling lines. I let it sit and idle to bleed the cooling system again and it seemed to be idling a little low. I turned the...

Re: D16Z6 Cutting out/bogging problem

I had to do a lot of adjusting and tweaking to get the throttle cable to fit the Z6 intake manifold already. I'm fairly confident its as good as it will get. I just got done bangin my head on the...

D16Z6 Cutting out/bogging problem

Ok, I'm going to try to be as thorough as possible here, so all the basics get covered. I have a 97 HX coupe with a 94 D16Z6 swapped in. I am running the P28 that came out of the same car as the...
