after a whole lot of blood and profanity, mpfi swap is complete! so much more responsive now, and holy crap does it sound a whole lot better. next step, replacing the beat-to-shit exhaust and lifting...

finished the cluster swap a couple weeks ago and have been driving it daily since.. haven't noticed anything different, but of course she was a slug anyway with the dpfi. also didn't see a change in...

could you elaborate on that a bit? i didn't notice any difference after i did the cluster swap, but if it's actually hurting it i'll rebuild it back to stock

did my mpfi swap over the weekend, and swapped my alternator as well.. sure is a hell of a lot easier with the intake manifold off. LOL

started up first try, so stoked for that.. throwing a code...

i'd rather bump an older related thread than start a new one.. but does the ecu HAVE TO see a vss signal? the cluster i'm using is older, and doesn't generate the signal like the oem one did. would...

that was my guess.. i mean it moves and all, just not much. when cold the needle is under the first line, after it warms up it moves about an 1/8" past it. wonder if i could swap the sender unit, or...

second one mounts to the column shroud, that way you don't have to deal with wires going thru the steering wheel. similar to aftermarket cruise control kits.

i've also got to run a few wires still, because of features my car doesn't have. have to tag individual door triggers, and then tap the lines for left and right brake lights. the lights are on now...

metra makes a couple pieces that you can add on to your steering wheel for this purpose.. obviously not factory looking, but it does the job. just another option

Thinking or redoing the center vent again with the dummy lights above the clock.. or maybe build an overhead type for it. Haven't decided yet.

getting them to show gear in my manual might be a bit tough.. lol. i want to do reverse for sure, maybe p for parked (parking brake set) and then have it otherwise just stay on d. i dunno tho.. still...
