ok everything is good now. let the car run longer this time, cleared out all of the smoke, guess there was a lot of gunk in the new used engine.

i'll be running it longer tonight and see if it does. crossing my fingers it'll be okay. it'll be a female dog to pull the motor out to exchange for another.

I just replace the timing belt Nov 2011. I'm sure I put the belt on correctly...checked timing and it's correct, car runs fine too. Could it possibly be a timing issue?

so had a check engine light, check and came back as cyl #4 misfire. did a compression test and here are the numbers:

#1: 195
#2: 190
#3: 160
#4: 100

plus last oil change was in nov 2011. ...

Timing belt replace, not tight.

I recently did a timing belt/water pump replacement on my 2001 accord lx 2.3l. How do you tighten the belt properly with the auto tensioner? It's weird compared to other cars that have a spring...

i'm not sure the vtec solenoid is the problem though... it runs on oil pressure, and because pressure was low from low oil levels, it threw the CEL. i don't know what is consumming oil at this...

i haven't checked the air filter. I looked around and left it at that, haven't checked anything either. After the car was towed, this started happening.
