I own a 1997 accord V6 and this is definately not how mine operates. You may want to check the wiring and see if anything shorted or been messed with.

Bringing this back from the dead to ask another question in regards to EGR port cleaning. I've noticed that my idle is a bit rough, but I haven't thrown a code yet. However on some future sunny day...

The 5th gen Accords tend to burn out the gaskets in the exhaust. It's happened on mine and it's very lound in the cabin.

Might want to take a quick look.

The upside is it's about $12 in parts...

Balwin - Unfortunately coilovers aren't in the budget, and at this time, with how I know I'll be driving the vehicle, and the conditions I know I'll be driving in (Winter, heavy salt on roads) coils...

Update

Called up H&R/Eibach/Neuspeed as they are the only companies that offer springs with a drop I want (1-1.75") for the V6. There are a few others but they are all in the 2" plus range.

I am definately going to be calling H&R about the springs. All the aftermarket sites I've been on say they are the correct ones,...

97 accord V6, auto, I get about 380 miles per 15 gallons, or for us canadians 600km for every 57 liters.

I don't consider that too horrible for all city driving, and a lot of it stop and go rush...

That generation of Accord came with the C27 as an option, but the aftermarket for it is slim at best. It's probably a better and cheaper option to play with the f22 you have.
