i had this problem it was my timing belt it skipped one tooth.. from what ive read we have interference engines..but luckily since i slipped only one tooth the valves did not hit the top of the...

low pad indicator its scrapes along your rotor to let u know its time to change the pads...its can also be that ur rotors are possibly warped depends on how it sounds exactly when you drive and brake
