Re: D15b7 map sensor
The D15B7’s map sensor is mounted on the fire wall and not the throttle body. It’s been a long time since I dealt with that motor but follow the schematics and trace the wires. I believe they are...

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
It boiled down to a broken signal wire on the MAP sensor circuit. One of the MAP sensors i swapped on was out of a B16 SI and was a different resistance. Once I fixed the broken wire and swapped back...

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
As of now the issue seems to have been fixed. I will give a quick rundown of what happened.
CEL came on for MAP sensor code 3. I checked resistance with a faulty meter not knowing said meter was...

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
Alright. So with the new meter my ECU in my car reads 4.9V at d21 and d17 and 4.96V between d21 and d19, ECU plugs unplugged and tested at the ECU pins themselves.
My brothers car reads the same. ...

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
So the DMM is definitely bad. I used one of my brothers and see 1.8V coming out of the signal at idle. I checked with my meter and got mV.
Now could a major machanical issue with the car cause a...

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
Two different multimeters. I checked voltage with mine at the same point and got the low voltage on his car. Also that ECU in my car read the same as the others and threw the MAP code just the same....

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
By the ECU. But I have run a completely new wire with these results. And an open would cause an issue but I don't see how it would take every ECU down to 0.9mV on the signal wire after being fixed.

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
One ECU came out of my brothers da integra. My car will start and run but it is super rich. It'll foul plugs quick if tried to drive it. We put it in his car and it runs just like it always has. No...

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
It is the same. 0.9mV whether I use the body ground or pin d21 to ground. I have done just about all voltage checks both ways.

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
Yes. There is not a short to ground. I have just recently ran all three wires directly to the ECU in my attempt to diagnose the issue. And tested it again when I did the resistance tests.

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
The only things that cause a low voltage in a wire are an open/resistance or a short. I have tested the voltages at the ECU with D connector unplugged. The readings are the same. I have an old ECU...

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
All four ECU's get the same value. 12mV on the signal wire.
I did forget to update that with the wires repinned correctly I am seeing 4.96 on the yel/red and 12mV on the white. I know the problem...

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
So all four ECUs are bad? As this is possible it also seems highly unlikely. Can you explain how this sensor works? I thought the 5V goes in travels along a resistor that changes based on vacuum...

Re: MAP sensor CEL won't go away
Its also possible that my DMM is bad. So there could be wrong voltages and my reading may not be correct. That might pose an issue in diagnosing an electrical issue. My brain is still intact although...

The two MAP pins on the outside are d17 sensor signal on the right and d19 sensor power on the left correct? The middle pin is sensor ground and runs to d21 right?
