Re: What's your opinion on fusing an upgraded/added wire from ALT to Battery + termin

:thud::thud: if you disconnect the lead from the alternator, current simply stops, it doesnt somehow build up current until it blows up, now if you disconnect the battery with the car running, then...

Re: ELD Delete and Master kill swtich

if you want the charge light, it's simple, one side of the light is always positive if the key is on, the output of the warning light wire is positive if the alternator is charging, and negative if...

Re: Oil pressure switch necessary on non-VTEC?

you might be able to do it, but the average person is going to just make a mess, most people when something breaks, they go into panic mode, and get it out any way possible, I've seen the results of...

Re: Oil pressure switch necessary on non-VTEC?

I did, a carbide will probably break, you have one of the hardest things known to man broken off inside of the remains of the threads of the sender, of couse them being a helix, they are now pressing...

Re: Oil pressure switch necessary on non-VTEC?

ask anyone who is a machinist what they think of those things, and you'll get the same answer, and of course the first suggestion is try to remove the easy out with another one :hammer:

Re: Oil pressure switch necessary on non-VTEC?

I'm a machinist, people find out and bring me crap at work with broken easy outs in it all the time, they are nearly impossible to remove, the things are harder then almost anything you can use to...

Re: ELD Delete and Master kill swtich

Re: 92-95 civic hatchback roof skin replacement?

it's approved for most non structural panels, on these older cars it didn't even exist when they were made, i like doing things old school but sometimes a product comes out that just makes it easier...

Re: 92-95 civic hatchback roof skin replacement?

I'm going to use some of this myself to back up holes I want to fill on my firewall, it's as strong as spot welding the backing panels, but without the heat, sparks and fire risk, if I had the car...

Re: 92-95 civic hatchback roof skin replacement?

you'll need the product and their specific applicator gun, you might get lucky and score a gun on ebay, that someone has used a couple of times, the manual gun isn't horribly expensive though, your...

Re: 92-95 civic hatchback roof skin replacement?

before this stuff came out, I would say weld, but the stuff is amazingly strong, it's really hard to weld a roof panel as the metal will want to warp, this gives you a lot of work time for...

Re: 92-95 civic hatchback roof skin replacement?

if you get the skin, which I doubt Honda has anymore, you can use the 3M body panel adhesive system, it's stronger then the metal itself, and you won't warp the panel, it's used OEM today for non...

Re: Alternator or battery

turn on a couple of things while it's running, high current like the blower motor and the headlights, then check the running voltage, it should compensate for it, and be around 14 volts. The issue...

Re: battery kill switch

in order to ill the entire electrical system, you need a cutoff switch that also kills the alternator field, if the alternator isn't cut there will be a huge voltage spike when the battery is...

Re: Voltage Surge (18V!!!) when Engine bay is hot and A/C is on

wrong wrong wrong, the regulator controls field voltage in the alternator to control current, the diodes simply rectify the ac voltage into dc that your car can use, a thermally unstable regulator,...

Re: Voltage Surge (18V!!!) when Engine bay is hot and A/C is on

ok, then keep running it with high system voltage, and play, which component is going to fail next, you might even get the chance to play, replace my wiring harness. Idiot, replace the alternator and...

Re: Voltage Surge (18V!!!) when Engine bay is hot and A/C is on

because it has to control the voltage under conditions where the computer is asking for more current, and if it's going out, it's not able to do this, replace it quick, hope you haven't already done...
