1. no sound, no oil pump, no dashboard ... they were all fine, but went out in an instant.

2. Ignition switch has been a problem on 97-02 models, this was manufactured in 95.

oh, my VSS needs to be replaced as well .... i will try to see if i can change it myself ... local autozone has a VSS for ~ $100, and a mechanic asked $270 for it ...

the speed sensor you talk about, is it same as the VSS? Can it be easily replaced? Or should I take it to a mechanic? I am a newbie as far as cars/parts are concerned.

Does VSS play any role in running a/c? Some auto parts website suggests if VSS is not working, your a/c wont work, true?
