Re: (TheMuffinMan)

Thanks.

That raises a design question. Some of these intakes have long tubes, and go down really low (to where the air box would be). Others end higher, more or less where the OE air filter...

Re: (rbwdriven)

Thanks, but what is a water trap?

Have not seen that feature with any of the aftermarket intakes.

Air box broken- Time for a performance intake?? (PIC)

97 4 cylinder:

Had my bumper off to replace mounts (other thread), and just noticed that the corner of my air box is broken off. Not exactly sure how that happened.

Anyways, I was thinking...

Re: 97 Front bumper mount brackets disintegrated (csnow)

Here's a picture. Pretty, eh?
The good news is the new pair was just $20 net.

I'm filling the new ones with urethane foam to keep the salt water out.
They are designed to trap water.
I will...

Re: Brake vibrating while braking on Highway....new ebay rotors? (mxl360)

Have not had good luck with slotted/drilled rotors.

Deep gouging and premature wear. Have tried on several vehicles.

Suggest a quality solid rotor.
I have had particularly good luck with...

97- Power Steering leak fixed

If you are losing power steering fluid, have a look at the hoses leading to the p/s cooler (just in front of the condenser).

At first I thought it was a leak in one of the rubber hoses which...

97 Front bumper mount brackets disintegrated

Anyone else have this problem?

Front bumper mounts rusted to near nothing. One side was barely hanging there. I literally ripped it off with my hands!

Not much rust trouble on the car in...

Re: General Question about people who drive through puddles. (gqstatus05)

Went through a big puddle Sat night, and it ripped off my fender liner. PITA

The big fatal thing is hydro-lock. Water in the intake will cause the engine to decelerate so quickly that things...

Re: Vibration/Shake after 60mph. ('95 BA8)

Don't overlook warped brake rotors. Does the vibration change when you tap the brakes?

Re: (TheMuffinMan)

$500 is not outrageous, unfortunately.

Mechanics generally charge list price for parts, so you could be looking at $250 there, $250 for perhaps 3-4 hours of labor, and there you go. Someone who...

Re: Push Button Start and Kill Switch / Ignition Bypass (07JKX)

It would be pretty easy.

Just need one toggle switch for ignition, and one intermittent switch for starter.
You just emulate what the key switch does. Turn on ignition switch, then press starter...

Re: Oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 96 honda Accord LX (nnamssorxela)

The rear one is unlikely to do anything to improve function. As I understand it, the second one is just there to prove that the first one is working.

I tried a "universal" rear sensor to save...

Re: Replacing Front Brakes '96 Accord (simmons42)

This method uses the longer bolts and the pneumatic hammer.

That method was awkward for me. ...

Re: Ac compressor question 97 L4 (ricerodder91EX)

Track down the leak because it's usually not at the compressor.

If you were to replace the compressor, you would also need a new accumulator/receiver/dryer unit (every time you crack the system)....

Re: Replacing Front Brakes '96 Accord (simmons42)

Replacing the rotors can be a real PITA.

You have to detach axle, pop the ball joints, and knock out the hubs from behind. There are a lot of things that can be frozen, causing the project to...

Re: squeeky noise in the engine (94hondaon16's)

I had perhaps a similar noise.

Went after it with a mechanic's stethoscope. Turned out to be the power steering pump. It was just low on fluid. Looks like I have a slow leak in one of the...

Re: Static shock from the Accord..every stinkin time (supermotothud)

That is really annoying, eh?

I wonder why some cars with plastic handles have this feature, while others do not.
