Thanks Ty!

Well, I re-checked under dash fuses, replaced the light stalk switch (wand), replace that chunky piece with interlock solenoid and a shifter handle, and... NOTHING!

I must be missing...

Actually, there should be a tiny circlip like thing (oddly shaped one), that sits in the groove in the tubular housing you see in the picture. It keeps the cable in place. Worth keeping it there as...
