its hard to push the shifter down to be able to put it in reverse not to actually put it in reverse or 5th gear.

yes u can use motor oil in a transmission. in fact almost all of the honda manuals have a recomended oil viscosity for transmissions. example, in my honda manual it said if u dont use tranny lube...
