I've done that in the past, but it wouldn't hurt to check again. What else would cause surgin idle other than iacv, tps, vacuum, or coolant?


It will idle fine on a cold start is the weirdest...

Found the source of the tps code...there was a loose wire that needed some attention...got rid of the code!!! But now the idle is fine until the engine gets up to normal operating temp and it gets to...

Didn't calibrate the new tps...was hoping it would be a quick fix. I'll have to wait on a multimeter to check voltage.

rough idle as in variating between 1k-3k for maybe 10 mins everytime i slow down to an idle, then being normal.

I've searched the other forums and still haven't found a resolution to my problem, so here goes...

I've had a rough idle on my b16 civic for about a year now. I'd clean the IAC every time it got...

I'm no expert, but my car does this when there is a lot of moisture outside and my diagnosis was the ECU going into "limp mode." Still haven't resolved my problems either...

I've seen them on several cars on here and have searched for a little while. Whats the right terminology for those rear view mirrors that go from pillar to pillar??

@deetz- yeah, power-wise anything would be better than what I have currently (OBX)..a beat up and nearly creased one at that. I've found a ceramic coated dc on ebay for like 300 shipped, i just don't...

cleaned iac, bled coolant, and reset ecu. no code and no rough idle! THANK GOD.

i'm so relieved..

now the the exhaust leaks....haha thx for the help guys

jumped the service connector and the cel just stays constant. but quick question: when you unplug the iac and the idle is ffixed but still throws a code, what does that mean?

GL man, having similar probs myself. I removed and cleaned the TB on my setup and it made it slightly better but still very obvious.

hha word. flushed it out and still no change...but get this. I've noticed that it'll have the lumpy idle but when I switch the A/C on it will idle normal??

I'm going to try to bleed the coolant system when I get off work, anyone have any write-ups or pics on where I should bleed out of the thermostat?

Well when the code was on constant, i took it to autozone one day and they were unable to read the code, my guess is because of the obd2->1 ecu. I don't have access to a factory ecu atm.
