I agree that it has to be a physical problem with the tank. Although some have issues with the fuel pump or sock or electrical problems the symptoms would be different.

i duno, i did the same thing (pulled the dizzy off of an a6 to put on a zc) and it was slightly off. i guess your best solution would be if it seems like it is off and you have reason to believe that...

i guess it depends on your ear. i would just check it with the timing light and then you know for sure if it is correct, and if it isnt you can correct it.
