Re: ***Official All-Motor Stock Sleeve B20VTEC Thread***

Check out my build thread for ideas as well. My pro 2 or pro 3 setup would have made upper 220's to mid 230's on pump

Re: Are the Skunk2 Pro3 Camshafts too large for a relatively stock LS/VTEC Build?

You have to think in terms of efficiency. Even going back to motors with carbs (or ITB's apply) in some cases bigger isn't better. You only need as much air as the motor can pull and apply the fuel...

Re: Are the Skunk2 Pro3 Camshafts too large for a relatively stock LS/VTEC Build?

LOL. This site still cracks me up.

Stock B20 crank and rods w/ ARP bolts to 9500 for a year, zero issues. Clearances, balancing and assembly details are key. This isn't rocket science.

Re: Are the Skunk2 Pro3 Camshafts too large for a relatively stock LS/VTEC Build?

I replied to your PM. Are you using a B16 or GSR head. That will make a difference. Pro 2's are on the "bigger side", but with the right header (I like the toda rep on 1.8's) and intake (S2 ultra or...

Re: ►Official All Motor Dyno Thread!

I'll be curious to see what the AEBS does, I think it will peak quicker for sure but not take out the top end too bad. I was running the VicX which on a 2L was a good fit until the cams got too big,...

Re: ►Official All Motor Dyno Thread!

^^^ pump gas?? Throw some E85 at it and I bet you make another 12-15whp and torque to 5-6tq. Almost identical build to my B20V the made 240 on pro 2's and 253 on pro 3's w/ E85. Strong motor

Re: Skunk 2 Ultra 2 cams specification question: Inlet valve opening /P2W measurement

I was told the Ultra 1 was comparable to a "pro 2.5" so I knew they were going to be serious. I heard they kept breaking and having failures in testing though so not sure what came of it.

Re: Skunk 2 Ultra 2 cams specification question: Inlet valve opening /P2W measurement

Did they FINALLY release these? I was on the waiting list for 3 months when I was building my old motor to test em out. Curious to see what they do

Re: B20V N/A confused with compression

I never got around to it but I wanted to throw M5 at my motor. Pretty sure I could have hit the 270-275 mark with really nothing special in the motor. Literally all honda parts in the block (I...

Re: B20V N/A confused with compression

LOL thanks fellas. Trust me, I was scared at first but I knew I built it right and let it rip. Pro 3's were a definite stretch for the block I had, but it made power and it screamed. Too bad I...

Re: B20V N/A confused with compression

Regardless of sleeves, the tune will dictate how long either motor lasts.

My B20 was 12.3:1 on pump gas. made 220whp and I beat the hell out of it for about 5k miles. They I jumped into E85....

Re: B20V N/A confused with compression

Depends on cam choice honestly. PHK pistons don't have deep enough valve relieves for most aftermarket cams

Re: Best upgrade for hp on b18c-R? Street car

If you plan on running pump gas keep it around 12:1

Re: Best upgrade for hp on b18c-R? Street car

Not correct. Tuner 1's are fine on stock compression, I've seen tuner 2's do very well in a stock R motor as well. You may have to rev it a hair more but the power will be there.

Stock rods are...

Re: B20V N/A confused with compression

B20 w/ R pistons and B16 head will be 11.6-11.8 depending on the HG thickness and milling done. The zeal calculator uses the wrong compression height when calculating, the aftermarket R pistons are...

Re: DD/Drag B20V build

They can get expensive yes, but a light Nova is easy to put in the 9's and can be done on pump gas with daily reliability lol. Not 30 pounds of boost, e85 and 3 broken axles and a blown HG.
I'll...

Re: DD/Drag B20V build

Not giving up. Just moving up...lol. The honda scene is a joke on the west coast IMO. 98% are thieves and shitbags. No event support. Really all you can do is test and tune or travel to CA/AZ/CO to...

Re: DD/Drag B20V build

Haha, at this point in my life, I think I'm done with Hondas altogether. Just not enough support (events) over here on the west coast. If i was on the east ciast where they have events every weekend...

Re: Troubleshooting:B20/VTEC Timing Belt not encapsulating both Cam gears w/ tensione

I'd lean toward over-tightening the belt and the tension plus the spin of the motor pulling it inwards towards the block.
