My 4th gen would do the same thing. Like the others said, check for uneven tire wear and get them balanced. It also could be a warped brake rotor or a frozen brake caliper... does the car still shake...

I'm not for sure but I thought the f22ax's and the f20ax's were sohc, but I don't know for sure... I have usdm f22a1 and its sohc, but I'm not familiar with the f20ax's... You should be able to tell...

Yeah you definitely need to overhaul your tranny. You probably blew the idler gear to shit, maybe even the input shaft...you'd be better off going for a new tranny... maybe consider a 5 speed swap......
