Re: Exhaust manifold/header to downpipe gaskets for 1990 Accord EX F22A4

Scratch that. The donuts I used last year must have been in the wrong box or something. I got Felpro 60578 (which EG24758 crosses to) and they didn't fit at all. It's Walker 31377 which fit perfectly...

Exhaust manifold/header to downpipe gaskets for 1990 Accord EX F22A4

I just wanted to leave this here for anyone who is having trouble with this. All of the part numbers listed at parts stores for this vehicle are wrong!

The flange on my car looks like this:...

Re: 90 accord, random sputtering and code 43

Maybe I was confused about the order of operations before. So, this came back in 2015. After checking the O2 sensor with a labscope and determining there was nothing wrong with it, and watching a...

Note: Brand new expansion valve was bad

Just a note that no, you're not crazy if you think a brand new expansion valve from the parts store is bad.

I replaced the factory compressor which was weak and making noise with an aftermarket...

Re: Moisture in MAP sensor on a 90?

Looks like the spurious trouble I have been having over the last few years was a broken/intermittent O2 signal wire. I rewired the whole O2 harness, checked for good O2 signal at ECM, and then drove...

Re: Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

For the hell of it I pulled the ICU apart and checked capacitor ESR, they were good. Put it back together and haven't seen an oil light since. Could re-seating the connectors have been all it...

Re: Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

Yes, I think it's a bad engine harness since like I said, I had to repair O2 sensor wires before. My main question is if I should be worried about the PSI numbers I am seeing on the gauge when the...

Re: Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

Can't be, it was above the top mark on the dipstick when I checked it cold.

Re: Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

Good info, thanks. By the way, also for the sake of info, the adapter required to hook up the oil pressure gauge was a 1/8 NPT female to 1/8 BSPT male which I found online for about $8 shipped. I...

Re: Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

Well, that !$%$@ oil light is busted! I got a mechanical gauge in and I'm going down the highway, with about 40-50 steady psi on the gauge, hit a bump and BLINK BLINK BLINK. Key off, key on, and...

Re: Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

I will definitely get a new sender ASAP. I may be able to slip the mechanical gauge hose through at the edge of the hood. It is pretty long. I'll try that out but first I need to get an adapter...

Re: Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

Ah, I get it now. Sometimes it takes me a few cycles. I would like to try that but for some reason the thought of driving around with the sender unplugged makes me verry nervous :)

Re: Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

Ok, maybe this is my culprit after all. I put the original HONDA sender back in today and will see if it makes any difference but will definitely get a new one when I have a chance.

I...

Re: Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

That won't work because I unplugged the sender and the light didn't light at all because it seems the wire has to be grounded by the sender to light.

Oil light comes on when I hit a bump

I have a 90 EX. This has been going on for awhile. Basically, when I am doing anything besides driving straight ahead on smooth ground, I get a regularly-blinking (not flickering or solid) oil...

http://www.justanswer.com/uploads/hybridownertech/2009-01-23_032055_P0108.pdf

Once I get setup to do so I'll be checking all the sensor voltages at the ECM so I guess I'll figure it out one way or...

Re: Moisture in MAP sensor on a 90?

Because it only happens when it's damp outside. No problems on dry days or after the car's been driven that day. Also, I got code 43 both before and after I replaced the O2 sensor (for a code 41...

Moisture in MAP sensor on a 90?

I know there is a fix for MAP sensor moisture on 95 and up but has anyone had such a problem on a 90? In damp weather only, I consistently get hesistation and leaning out at medium throttle. If I...

Re: Hood has the shakes

Are there supposed to be any rubber pieces in the hood itself? i.e. facing downwards

Re: Hood has the shakes

The hood wasn't replaced, just the latch because of this problem. I noticed there was play in the latch and replaced it because I thought it was the cause. Now there is no play in the latch but the...

Re: Hood has the shakes

I'll check for cracks. Yeah, I'm ready now to just "make it work". I wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something completely obvious first.

Re: Hood has the shakes

OK, I have those. I wonder why there is a gap, none of this is making any sense. If the hood itself is flush with the fenders then those two rubber pieces should be supporting the hood on the sides.

Re: Hood has the shakes

The alignment looks great. It's right on, at least if the hood is supposed to look level with the fenders. I don't know about the composition, but it seems like metal and has never been replaced to...

Re: Hood has the shakes

Mounts are good. Could someone do me a favor and go and push down on the very edge of your hood about midway between the windshield and nose of the car? And tell me what is keeping the hood solid...
