If you have enough cable, you can cut the corroded clamp off and replace it with one of many replacement battery terminal clamps available at most places with an automotive section.

Does it do it if/when you rev it in first? Have you tried disconnecting the kill switch from the control cluster next to throttle to see if that cures the problem?

True. You are in a semi-moderate climate that doesn't have many days in freezing conditions so you don't need 'anti-freeze'. Distilled water would work fine and transfer heat better than a coolant....
