buy a spark tester (or use a timing light) and verify spark on all four cylinders

inspect spark plugs...misfiring one may look different, also a mis-gapped or fouled plug could be at fault.

start at the fuel pump power connector which is on top of the fuel tank. I can't recall whether you get to this from under the trunk carpet or under the back seat.

A common fault on this vehicle...

we also have a crv and leave it in overdrive.

Turning off O/D would give a bit of an acceleration edge if you're trying to jockey in and out of traffic.

faulty ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor? ECT would tell ECU that engine was warm when it was not, causing hard starting.

if it fell off, the shims, circlip, and nut were probably lost and I bet the clutch is toast.

best bet it is to buy a new clutch and have somebody install it. You need a special holder tool to...
