so my friend and i were trying to put HID's into his EG and we came across a problem...

at first the HID's were just flashing and not staying on... after we jiggled some wires we thought it was...

tried it... no wiggling at all...





tried that too. i tried pulling the axle off the tranny and back on... and dripped oil all over my face *puke*

It would be really great to know which side of the car it is coming from and I'm assuming the sound is coming from the front :-)

yeah im expecting the TPS as well...

no CEL..

spark is good.

just replaced the iacv about 6 months ago... but it was doing it before and after i switched it out..

i'll check the dist cap...

hmm never thought of that!

yeah im running H&R sport springs with stock shocks... its possible...

but it's very jerky.. almost to a point when it's like im popping the clutch and it jerks...

nope the pitch stays the same .. a low toned swooshing noise... and no the tire isn't cupping.
yeah i did some zig zags left and right before and it only makes the noise when i go right, no noise...

not a clicking sound... more of a low toned swooshing sound...





yeah i checked that as well.. sometimes i get the noise when changing lanes as well, and always when making turns..

so i have a 92 civic si hb running on H&R sport springs and stock shocks.

whenever i turn the wheel to the right, i get this knocking/rubbing noise from the front...

OKAY!

so problem's solved but after a hugeheadache...

so i went to the junkyard to grab a new IACV and FITV.
came home put them both in, flushed my rad and topped up, and crossed my fingers....

ok so i tried plugging the bottom hole after the car was warm and i got a minor vacuum... i guess there's my problem?

im off to the junk yard tomorrow to grab another IACV and FITV and put them...

so to test the FITV, i take off my intake when the car's warm and put my thumb over the hole? wat are my results if there is a vacuum and if there isn't?

yeah i realized i didn't tighten the throttle body intake on tight enough and there was a leak there! solved the 2500 RPM situation, but now im still back to about 1000-1100 RPM when warm...

UPDATE:

so this time i basically took apart my whole throttle body apart and cleaned the IACV again, FITV, the throttle body itself, and flushed the coolant...

i start the car up and this time...

i got the code 20 after i reset the ECU...

i've also cleaned my IACV and throttle body again... idle is still pretty high.. i still get the situation when i unplug the IACV connector, the RPM...

UPDATE:

i have been doing all these things and i just realized i hadn't jumped my ECU for codes yet!

jumped it and got a code 20, Electronic Load Detector (ELD)

is that relavent to my idling...

gonna try to clean my FITV this weekend...
wat's awkward to me is that before i cleaned my IACV, the idle was fluctuating but it was a lot lower (around 750-1000 RPM) and now after i've cleaned it,...

no CEL light on unless i unplug the IACV.. but i assume that's normal.. ocne i plug it back in the light is gone...





well i claened my IACV and throttle body with throttle body cleaner......
