Vtec is just set too low with my ram horn smallish 6262 turbo setup. Raised vtec to 6k rpm good to go. You could probably lower vtec with a larger turbo and bettter top mount manifold.

Just to add after reading more of these post. I didn't set lash to what the card said. I set it to stock honda specs. So I dont really think tighter lash would help this issue

IF your at tdc in this picture on the crank pulley ... I believe your cams are out of sync.... you need to rotate left cam 180 degrees to the left,,, then rotate right cam 180 to the right.
