Issue is resolved. The sound is coming from the ABS conducting a self test according to a Honda shop foreman who test drove my car today. And yes it also can make the buzzing noise going in reverse....

The strange pumping (rubbing noise) is coming from the ABS device under the hood on the passenger side. It pumps only once when I first start the car and move forward or backward in or out of gear....

No rust. Brakes not dragging. Braking while driving is excellent. Makes rubbing noise without brakes applied.

Strange rubbing noise

I have a 2006 accord sedan 4cyl. with 73k miles. I hear a quick rubbing noise coming from the front of the car while rolling forward or backwards at very slow speeds. I hear nothing at high speeds....

Thanks for your response. Do wheel bearings go bad around 73k miles?? Also, there is no shimmy, shake, or excessive play in the steering wheel. All responses appreciated.

So I guess the braking was good on the 2006/2007 accord I4 cars. I'm thinking on buying a 2006 accord I4 soon, and the only negative issue from Consumer Reports was the brake area on these two years....

Thanks for the response. So, the overall opinion of the brakes on the 2006-2007 accords is favorable? Are Honda pads considered the best? Any other comments is appreciated.

How many miles is on the car? Is it a 4 or 6 cyl. vehicle? If you find no leaks, then I would use a High mileage oil if you indeed have high mileage.
