You clearly are inexperienced. Honestly, if you get this far, I would expect high 14s, low 15s. With practice you can lower those times.

I would believe that if you weren't actually travelling 75mph (which you almost certainly are not, as Honda speedos are notoriously optimistic).

Thanks guys. I think the coil has been replaced recently, as I found the old one in the glove box. I will purchase an igniter.

RonJ, I was hoping to hear from you. It only happens when idling. Do you think it could be the distributor? I'm trying to figure out the mechanic's thinking.

Sorry, not enough info in OP. No, there are no other symptoms, including CELs. The car seems normal until you come to a stop.

I had a B16A2 in my EG with a P72 (4500rpm crossover) and it made no power until close to 6K. Once I switched to the proper ECU, with 5700rpm crossover, it was a totally different car.

Your VTEC sounds backwards. GSRs should switch over around 4500 while B16s switch around 5700rpm.

Just to clarify, you can drive without the MAP sensor. I did with my B16 while trying to diagnose a bad idle.

Thanks. In the ad he labeled it "D16 JDM intake manifold and TB". I simply assumed it was the Z6.

Yes, I made a typo in the title. I'm simply putting a stock motor together.




Thanks for the advice. I've heard the Y8 manifold is better for performance; however, I have located a JDM D16z6...
