Cams that will fit a d16y7 (replacement, not performance)

Car has been idling like hell for the last 2 months...FINALLY found the cause tonight...a chunk of my cam broke off where the distro keys into it....the rotor can wabble a good 5 degrees because of...

Re: Engine misses randomly - new ICM and coil

Well, i've had the idle drop to like 500 with significant vibration, but sometimes the car has a momentairy lack of power...that can be between 1K and 4K...incidentally that's where it normally...

Re: Engine misses randomly - new ICM and coil

Compression came in at 208 214 218 212 (1,2,3,4)

So compression is decent. I checked the spark, and it's a purple blue for all cylinders. I know RonJ@HT mentionned a white spark, but I thought...

Re: Manual Transmission acts like an Automatic

Did you recently replace the clutch? Did you get the flywheel machined?

Sounds like your pressure plate isn't disengaging...but I'd expect it to start smelling like clutch after a little bit of...

Re: Engine misses randomly - new ICM and coil

Pulled the plugs, they look decent...more or less brownish...a lot of black on the electrode, but then, the car had been idling for a while prior.

Pulled the fuel injectors, there was a fair bit...

Re: Engine misses randomly - new ICM and coil

I'll check the wires tomorrow...in the mean time more symptoms showed up tongiht.

I drove it for 1 hour no problem, but right after getting off the highway at a light the idle got all messed up....

Re: Engine misses randomly - new ICM and coil

Thanks for the input.

Plugs have about 6000K on them. Cap, rotor, wires are about 2 years old, but seem in pretty good shape. (pass the water bottle test and fuel mileage is fairly normal)

I...

Engine misses randomly - new ICM and coil

Well I'm all out of ideas, so I'll bow to a higher intellect.

Syptoms:
Hard jerks from an apparent missfire...feels exactly as a car does when it sputtering from lack of fuel. Happens under...

Re: EK EX Knuckles compatible with DC Knuckles?

For future reference, Civic SIR (us Si) calipers are compatible with DC calipers, using the DC caliper brackets.

Re: EK EX Knuckles compatible with DC Knuckles?

Cool...the knuckles I've found are off a 99-00 canadian SiR (US SI I think). You 100% sure the SiR calipers are the same as the teg (can't find matching part numbers on the knuckles or calipers)? If...

Re: EK EX Knuckles compatible with DC Knuckles?

Yeah the teg caliper floats too. Hmm...so you think the second link I posted (spoon calipers) doesn't work with the EK knuckle because the spoon caliper doesn't float?? My worry is that the caliper...

Re: EK EX Knuckles compatible with DC Knuckles?

Thanks for the reply! How sure are you of this? From what I read, the holes line up, but the caliper mounting bracket might be too thick and rub against the rotor.

Thanks again for any extra info!

EK EX Knuckles compatible with DC Knuckles?

Been searching, came across contradictory posts.

Question: Can you mount a DC caliper on an EK EX (or Si) knuckle?

Background: I own a 97 DX with a DC front knuckle and caliper swap (98...

How hard is it to put an EG exhaust manifold on an EK?

So I have the usual P0420 code, but since my car is Canadian, I don't have the extended warranty. The cheapest thing I can think of is to remove the godawful cat and replace it with a more normal...

Re: Hollowing a DX EK cat, can it be done on the car? (burgandybeast)

jesus christ ...we normally just toss em here

...the problem with pulling it is that I need a new exhaust manifold in that case

Hollowing a DX EK cat, can it be done on the car?

The cat is blown on my car so I'm planning on installing a regular universal cat downstream. However, I'd like to hollow the original one in case it's clogged.

Can this be done on the car? What...

DX EK (D16Y7) aftermarket cats? What do people use?

That damn cat is impossible to get in universal.

I was looking around and it seems the solution is to replace the exhaust manifold with a standard manifold and cat.

I was considering getting...

Re: Over wattage H4 bulbs? Feedback? (bmoua)

Yeah, I read about those.

Still wondering if anyone's ever tried the 90/100W bulbs?

Re: Over wattage H4 bulbs? Feedback? (Padawan)

I was under the impression that drop-in HIDs had horrible light distribution as they didn`t have the correct geometry and therefore weren't at the focal point of the lense.
