iunno the lazy man's route is divorced internal wastegate, it sounds pretty sick, but can't touch a nice 38+ tial. the pic of TJ R's downpipe, the wastegate is entering too soon and causes velocity...

in my opinion your problem isn't manifold seal or a turbo seal. i have the same exact effects, i thought my seal was bad between manifold and turbo but that wouldn't cause a boost leak, its not...
