Re: 1983 civic - how to pull the gas tank

Yes, drop tank from below.
There may be a drain plug, but I'll have to look at my wagon later and see.

Re: Two TDK boxes under parcel shelf

Does/did the car have a premium sound system of some sort?
Those look like amplifiers judging by the toroid coils inside.

How many wires are in the connectors plugged in? If they are amps, there...

Re: 1983 Civic Wagovan 5speed

Weber carb swap is pretty easy and well worth the money.

When I swapped mine I bought the throttle linkage for a Suzuki samuria( the end where the cable attaches to the carburetor ). I had to...

Re: 83' civic wagon front suspension issue

Did find the passenger side axle seal was leaking though.
Guess I have one more time of taking the front apart to replace it. Can't believe I didn't think to change them while the trans was out.

Re: 83' civic wagon front suspension issue

Woohoo, squealing noise was just the dust shield rubbing the inside of the rotor.
Must have gotten bent while I was working on the front end and I didn't catch it.

Couldn't straighten the part of...

Re: 83' civic wagon front suspension issue

Got an alignment, seems to have fixed the issue. The Toe was way out.
Now I have a howling noise, can't tell if it is the trans or belts, or possibly brake related.
Looks like I am off to my next...

Re: 83' civic wagon front suspension issue

Thanks.
I will tow it to a shop, if I do not find anything amiss with the install.
Luckily it lived its life towed behind an rv, and still has the tow bar installed.

Re: 83' civic wagon front suspension issue

If it isn't too much trouble, that would be great.
I call it crummy, because Haynes manuals always seem to be lacking to me.
They have more pictures than say a chilton's manual, but the...

83' civic wagon front suspension issue

I recently replaced both lower control arms and outer tierod ends while I had the car apart for a new clutch.

Now everything is back together and torqued to specs from my crummy Haynes manual, but...

Re: 85 crx si vtec swap help

You are going to need a mount kit from a company such as Hasport and either make or buy custom axles. The engine wiring will have to be modified to work with the new ecu and motor.

I am not sure...

Re: Weber Install - Cut Throttle Cable End?

If the design on your Weber is the same as the one for my 83, it is designed for you to clamp the throttle cable between that plate and another piece. You cut the knob off the end, and sandwich the...

Re: Replace Alpine Stereo w/ Pioneer problem

You can re use the harness adapter, the white plug with the bundle of wires leading to it.
Just cut the wires at the connectors and attach to the matching colors on the pioneer harness.

I haven't had my front end apart, so my...

Re: 1982 civic wagon Need help!

Yes. If you plan on swapping it though I wouldn't spend the money, just add that ammount for parts for the swap.

If you need a carb or it is going to be quite a while until you swap it, then maybe...

Re: 1982 civic wagon Need help!

DON"T run without coils.
If you drop it as much as you want you are going to have serious negative camber issues in the front also. The rear is solid axle so no problems there. Might have clearance...

Re: 1982 civic wagon Need help!

Heating springs isn't that good of an idea, but in moderation why not. LOL
I would probably cut a coil, maybe two. It will have a stiffer spring rate but probably be okay.
Maybe some coil over...
