I read somewhere it was because of "aerodynamic drag".

The key is as long as the density charge gain is greater than the power loss (due to pressure drop) the intercooler is ok.

I have an HKS BOV, does the same thing, closes when no vac present. I believe this is normal operation on most BOV's. I put a filter on mine because of this.

Get this book, Maximum Boost by Corky Bell.

I know this doesn't answer your questions, but its well worth the time / money to learn what your getting into.

Pull off turbo intake tube, check for any play in turbo. Should have very very little to none (in both axial and radial diamensions)

Just got mine inspected month ago, upstate doesn't run active emmisions (I'm not sure about the city, can't believe they would be different

Check Miata.net, do a search, whole lot of info. I belive they had some problems with quality and Corky stopped selling them.

Nice, I'm thinking about going to a larger A/R. I always thought 0.48 was choking me on the higher rpms. And you can't beat the lower exhaust temps!

How is response?
