Default are there any h22as out there?

My honda civic vx only makes 95hp...........That wont cut it . I wanted to no if any one had a h22a with a trans ( no auto )and all the other stuff needed . I will only buy it if it has less than 50,000 miles on it .
I would be willing to trade my 18in enkie tuning rims + money . There 18x7 they have 4 tires on them right now but 3 need replaced .

H22 in a civic is stupid dude, ask any real honda tuner and they'll tell you that.. Unless its a true drag car its not worth doing, that extra weight ***** the handling up on the car.
Just do a b-series... I have plenty of friends with b-series, some daily driven and others are drag cars.. There is so much more potencial with a B-series then a H-series in my mind...
Owell, its your money thats gonna be waisted if you do a H22 in it and its not gonna be a strickly drag car, not my money..

Owell.. I know two people who "had" H22 in there civics... To say the least one got rid of his car and the other pulled the motor out and went with a b-series....

Don't listen to this bull$hi@. H-series in a civic will run circles around any b series motor including b18c5 and b18cr. Yes there is a major weight difference but all this can be helped if you have a very nice suspension setup and and take some of the weight off the front by using a carbon fiber hood. It's is your car and your money you can be like the rest and put a b series in your car and be just as fast as all the other civic's out there with the exact same swap or you can get a step ahead of them. B series are good engines but you have to admit the torque is terrible...not the case with the H22. No matter what they say there is no replacement for displacement.

For relieabilty factors i guess thats why you see more B-series in civics...
If they have a ITR sway its obviously they could have afforded a H22, they just choose to be relieable..
Owell...... Whatever flaots your boat....

actually h series are usually cheaper than any b series motors ive seen...basically because of the demand for b series...what would i know though, i only sell them..

there is nothing wrong with the swap however, but i agree with outkast in that it does hurt handling because of weight...

Yes, H22a is not as expensive as b18c5,b18cs and etc...

Outkast =/ in my opinion...if you think its a bad idea, then tell him in a nice manner. No need to be rude about it. Also...your gramm"ER" needs improvement. In case you didn't get it...this is the correct spelling of "grammar"

Good point however as well...about the weight difference. everyone lets . Angels whoooped some *** tonight

B-series swap is easier... that's the primary reason.

The whole "H22 swap won't handle" is messageboard rumor... plain and simple. My hatch with a B-swap has a 66/34 weight distribution. Adding another hundred pounds isn't going to change that much. (and yes, I know the argument about the H22 sitting farther out front). I'm considering buying an H22 just to put this to rest. Bump my spring rates up a bit, install a Quaife and head to the track. Maybe it won't work... my point is that everyone and their cousin will tell you that it won't work, but only a handful of people have ever driven an H22 swap and probably 99% of those cars weren't setup right.

That said, the B-series is a better developed platform and seems to have more tuning potential. Throw in something like a B20vtec and things get real fuzzy.

I've heard the "rumor" about the h22's being good just for the track, and i've always been set to getting a b-series swap. But now this post opened up my mind alittle bit.

The way i see it is, yes the h22 puts more power than your b-series swap, but since the h22 sits up alittle closer and weighs some more, how much will it effect your handling?

But then with the b-series you still get good power, but not as much torque, but handles better. Then you can build up the motor to be just as fast or faster than the h22, but then reliability comes into place. So it's really up to what your going for and if the car is daily driven or just a toy car.

But i can't really say anything b/c i haven't been in an h22 hatch, if you guys can add anything it'd be helpful. Thanks

I'm not really up on b-series and h-series swaps but personally from what I have read about the arguement I would have to say go with b-series do to the fact that an h-series swap may be cheaper initially but you also have to figure in suspension work with that. As far as there being no replacement for displacement, isn't the b20 block the same as a b18 just with a larger bore diameter. I might be wrong if I am please tell me so no one gets mislead. So, if the b18 block is used for the b20 you could do a b20 vtech and have some of the advantages from both less weight and greater displacement. But please take into consideration this is only based on the things I have read I don't have any hands on with these motors. I just thought I would throw that out there as a possibility.
