ERIC DICKERSON has made up for scamming me.
I wanted to take a moment and write up the conclusion of my chapter in the Eric Dickerson Saga.
Back in 2002 when I lived with my folks in Maryland, and before I even knew about H-T, I was emailed and called by Eric after he found an ad I posted on thepartstrader.com for some ITR interior pieces I owned. I purchased a full 2000 ITR interior (seats, door panels, CF console piece, carpet, floormats, etc...) from a shop building 2 ITR race cars. Eric was very keen on having me send him the carpet (mint condition) and floormats that I had, since I wouldn't be using them in my 99 Civic hatchback.
He chatted me up for some time during several phone conversations, and convinced me that in Cali he had the hookup through one of his friends whose dad was an importer, and that they had just received an EK9 front clip. He told me he would be happy to get me any part off of it that I wanted ie Gauge Cluster, or SRS steering wheel, etc... if I would send him the carpet and mats in advance. It sounded good to me, so I sent him the parts at my own expense ($$$ shipping) to his parents' home in Moreno Valley. this was while he was working at BBK customer service I believe.
Needless to say, after he received the parts he stopped taking my calls, and completely ignored my emails. I knew him as AdvanceXGSR at that time since that was the email address he used. I came on to h-t randomly one day and signed up, and I couldn't believe it when I saw his name and pics of his car posted practically everywhere. He had (and still has) lots of friends on this board. Someone created a thread asking if Eric could be trusted and I replied and related my prior experiences with him, and pointed out that he had scammed me. He tried to deny it and claimed that he didn't know what I was talking about, and all his friends stood up for him and said he would never scam anyone. That was until I posted up a copy of the receipt for the shipping I had paid, and I posted the tracking # to show proof of delivery to his address.
That was really the point when the floodgates opened I believe. Other individuals who he had scammed started to chime in, and eventually he got banned. He is the only individual on h-t that has a sticky at the top of this FS forum saying to watch out for him. He came back on here under a few different SN's over the years, and each time a mod found out it was him, his accounts were banned again and again.
Last week, I made a remark in another thread about how I didn't think Eric's "ITR" (Mandy?) was a real ITR at all, but a SiR-G dressed up like one. It opened a can of worms, and got Eric's attention fast.
He contacted me with the help of NWP4Life and asked me what it would take to put the past behind us. I told him I wanted to be reimbursed for the parts he scammed from me. Initially he offered me $100 which I politely declined since I think even today mint 2000 ITR carpet and mats would be worth more than that (I paid close to that in shipping alone). I asked him if he had any parts he would be willing to send me instead of cash, and from the list he gave me I chose a 1st gen Apexi VAFC with blue screen.
I had him ship it to my office, and when I came in today, lo and behold there was a package for me from Eric Dickerson, and it did in fact contain the VAFC.
At this point I am willing to say that Eric has done what is necessary to make things right by me for what he did. He has apologized which was very big of him to do, and has demonstrated the sincerity of his apology by backing it up with merchandise.
I don't know if we will ever be friends Eric, but at least we can say that this matter is now behind us.

andy freeman (NWP4life) has also payed off erics debt with me. got scammed for 188.18 but got refunded 150.

yeah, Eric said that he has tried to go back and make it up to other people as well. glad to hear that wasn't a fabrication.

Perhaps this will be a lesson to all would-be scammers: it's not worth a few lousy bucks to have your name and reputation be a stench to all your fellow enthusiasts in the whole country!!!
Too often people who damage others only feel regret when the negative effects of their actions come back around and sting them, then they make amends. In the end it's all good that they make it right, but how much better for everyone if they had just been honest in the first place.

It's like I've always said. People do childish things during their youth that they never get a chance to make up for. I know I've done many things I'm not proud of, and I've made every attempt to make good on them. I've known Eric for many years, and It's obvious when he was younger he made poor judgments. Now factors like starting a career and becoming a family man have made him realize his wrongs, and make endless efforts to change them for the better. I'm glad this issue was resolved, and I think overall this will open the eyes of those who do not know Eric personally, but have judged him off of his negative reputation.
I feel there will be more stories like this to come...

Eric Dickerson to me is one guy that you dont want to do business with, he flaked on me buying the si cat back, SMUCKER=CISCO=MR. DEW and he use that sn to make a damn story that I sold a stolen ITR tranny to his friend Jason to get me upset, Eric in my book is a big

expletive that taking it down ****. Leave it there. Sounds to me like the only reason he did the right thing was to clear some air for his own benifit. He did nothing to fix it until you leaned on him or dissed his ****. 1 right does not mend all the wrongs. THOU SHALT NOT STEAL. God is watching you scammmers so be careful.

i remember reading about him and glad to hear some of the past issues were put to rest ... but even if he made amends with every person he scammed.. who would have the courage to ever trust him again ?
