Wheelz - MB "Competition"
Moved from another thread... I tend to get off subject pretty easily, so rather then continue to bury it in the Nitto thread, here's the info I received about this Wheel.

Also on discount direct tire, they have an unfamiliar (to me) wheel offered called simply "Competition".
http://www.discounttiredirect....4-100
However in searching for "real" data, namely the weight, neither Discount Direct, nor MB Wheels, the manufacturer, has it posted. The pdf file at MB Wheels simply has the weight listed as N/A. How about SOL? That would make more sense right? It doesn't look promising though, judging by the other wheels listed within their "Motorsports Wheel Specifications" section.

To give them the benefit of the doubt, I emailed them to find out what the weight is, and I'll be glad to pass that information along IF I get it.

... Greetings from Discount Tire.
Thank you for your inquiry.
The weight for the 15x7 MB Competition is 13.0 lbs per wheel.
At the time the PDF was built, the weight was unknown.
Your feedback is valuable to us. We encourage you to contact us again if we can be of further assistance or if we did not address all of your concerns.
Sincerely,

Also, the other important piece of info., these wheels are $107.00 each.
From what I can remember these are on par, weight and price-wise with the now discontinued Borbet Type Ts.
I can't help it, I like window shopping and figured I'd share the info.

Re: Wheelz - MB "Competition" (bad-monkey)
I just don't like wheels with all those holes drilled around the hub.
It may be an irrational fear, but its my fear and I can have it if I want.

those are just "speed holes" .... they lighten the wheel and dissipate heat at 67% higher rate than wheels w/o speed holes. Say goodbye to brake fade and hello to decreased stopping distances

Re: Wheelz - MB "Competition" (emwavey)
Shape wise, those kind of look like a 5Zigen GN+, but in 5 spoke instead of 6.
Either way, sounds like a decent weight, but I wonder how well they hold up to abuse...

I have MB Motoring "Weapons" on my s14, they are great. they are made by a company called a-tech out of japan. relativley lightweight (mine) strong and at 130$ a pop you cant beat them for a track wheel. i have several friends who use them for track use and have no issues.

Check out the Enkei wheel RP02 in silver, 15x7, ET 41, 12.4 lbs., for $95 each. Not really about the 41 ET, but other than that, a great deal.

I don't buy that Falken Hanabi advertised weight. Email Falken directly and you'll get a different number, more like 14 lb.
