Track Map, you fill in the racing lines. Local karting.
I'm just interested in seeing what you guys think. Draw your racing lines on w/ MS Paint or something!
I'm interested to see what you guys do for Turn #1, and no cheating and looking at other posts first, just do you own, post it and then compare!

this would probably be my prefered line while making a qualifying lap or while im well able to hold off the group behind me.
it would change considerably while driving defensivly.

Right off it is hard because I don't know a scale.. width in particular. (has a lot to do with where i might give up a traditional line to save distance.)

Is that place is open yet? Every time I check their site, it basically says they're openning next month.

i really suck at mspaint
if i would actually drive that line... who knows, but from looking at it for a sec i think that is what i would try to do, squiggly parts included of course

I might try something like this if I were on the track by myself. It all depends on the kart, and scale of the track.

I think I would change my turn 16 to incorporate the WHOLE track and then come down the stretch along the pit wall.

How would you know when to do that when you are on the track? What kind of visual or other cues would you use?

Would you take turn 5 wide if it meant more speed through that long straight?

Depends. Is there someone behind me? If so I think I would take the tightest line to make it as hard as possible to pass. That little dip at 6 and 7 I think would prevent someon from trying to go outside if the speed difference is minimal. If I were alone and could maintain a little more speed I might go a "little" wide, but I'd like to keep my shortest distance if possible.
But it all depends on the width of the track, length of that stretch, the actual speed difference (in karts I don't think it would take long to get to full speed on a stretch like that)

This is for the fast lap time possible. These things get up to 50mph, they will take about 1/2 to 2/3 the length to get up to top speed.
Track width: 15 feet

Re: Track Map, you fill in the racing lines. Local karting.
What's with all the late apexes folks? If these are like the typical rental 6hp mules, they hit no more than 35-40mph on a good day (despite all these places claiming 50mph, my ****...) It's all about momentum. You try to do a "slow in, fast out" late apex in these things and you'll be "slow in, even slower out".
Simply put, turn in early and take the line that will give you the fastest avg speed through the turn. Depending on the surface, there will be no braking on this track, except if they use that slippery sealed concrete stuff. In that case a light tap on the brake in 1 and 10. Momentum, momentum, momentum...

There is a lot of braking on this track. These karts are not your run of the mill karts. They are 'quick.' They are about to reopen and it would appear as if they asphalted the warehouse (instead of the slick sealed concrete).

They used to be 6 hp karts on slippery sealed concrete. This is a reincarnation of a place that closed a while ago, and I've heard that they're putting down a stickier surface, but the new place isn't even open yet so noone really knows.
