Default 'Time attack' 99 sedan. A few tech inputs needed.

Hi there

I'm currently in the middle of a situation here where my all out track toy is way too powerful and is never damn ready for hitting the track so I made a few upgrades on my DD to have a little fun (tell me you never did it haha)

the thing is: It is a prety basic setup made with all local parts (Im in Brazil btw) and the result was satisfatory in the past events but now its time to be more aggressive so I need to find another 6 seconds in Interlagos (out of a 2:08 lap) to be more competitive and it is kind of a hard situation because there are soooooo many routes to go right now.

Currently I have:

99 sedan, LX
boosted D16y7, 7 psi at the track, 160whp
350lbs springs, stock shocks revalved
Advan A008's 205/50 r15 on 4 corners
EK4 rear sway bar

everything else stock.

I had a hard time with the stock brakes on the past events, I had to brake on the 150 meters mark as I had very little stopping power and stupid amounts of fade

another problem was that the stock bushings were too flexy and that was causing my suspension to be all over.

So what I got for the car this week was:

a camber kit for the front
all hard PU bushings
300mm brake with slotted disk and racing pads
400lbs springs (a bit shorter since my coils are bottomed out and the car still sit pretty high)

from my partial logs I found that I could find another .8 second with better driving, and I GUESS the better suspension and reliable brake setup could give me about 1 maybe 1.5 seconds, and I could find another sec by raising the boost/power to about 220whp.

But then I just have no idea what could be the best possible mods for the money….

Shortest trans? (at this point I do the entire lap on 3rd and 4th)
LSD diff?
what about aero? it could be cheap to build a splitter/dam setup and disappear with the rear bumper but is that worth it?
Could I bennefit from strut bars between the shock towers? I currently run none

Of course the car is a little heavy, but since its a very fun street car I'm not remove accessories for now, and not going all out on the shocks/springs because I know there is a lot of room to improve before I reach that point.

well.. Thank ou everyone. Any input will be highly apreciated

Are you using a higher temp brake fluid? Ate200 or rbf600/660 would definitely help with the brake fade .

Yes, I'm using pentosyn racing brake fluid, that has a very high boiling point just like the RBF660, but I was lacking stopping power, I was braking much much sooner than I use to do with my other car that topped 40kmh higher at the end of the straight.

But I got that sorted out, my new brakes should arive at any time.

You are very lucky to be able to drive on this track !

For better time, maybe get better tires... some R compound ?
