Technical Differences: Motul 300V vs. Motul 8100?
Just looking for someone to explain to me the main differences between the Motul 300V compared to the Motul 8100? I'm having a hard time finding information on either one... I haven't had time to talk to my tuner, but he recommended the 8100 once I change my oil from Motul 3000 Conventional...
Any information on classification and characteristics would be awesome! The 300V sounds like an awesome oil being a Double Ester... Just want some information on how it would be vs. the 8100?

I figured if anyone would know the differences you guys would... Yes the main difference is "Race" oil vs. "Street" oil, but what does that mean in terms of performance?

I'm using the 8100 10w40. Maybe the 2nd number is higher than the "street" oil? Sorry, not much to contribute here..

It is hard to find info on this stuff.
I have spoken to people in Europe and the 300v is basically better able to withstand higher temperature and has less detergents for less possible foaming
I have only used e 300v and I can say that it is absolutely the best product I have put in my race car.
I tried many different oils, running a b16 road race car at 9k and 320 degrees ! 300v that was the only oil that didn't turn black and start to loose viscosity after 1 track session.
I have not tried the 8100

I think there is a new US distributor out there.
Dont see much info from the website.
Perhaps they can chime in and shed some light on the differences.
If no one else does, id take Juan's advice and run with it!
You dont win HC championships using bad oil.

8100 can last longer than 300V. So unless you can afford oil change w/ 300V every week or 2. I'll say use 8100 for any "street & weekend" car.
For real race car(no street @ all), go for the best oil you can get & 300V is one of the VERY BEST!
