Re: (94civicEX)
If your going to replace the sub frame let me suggest installing a type r one.
Itr one is stronger and reinforced to handle the bigger sway bar.

Well I pulled off the bar, so at least I can drive it.
So what happened was it tore out the welded nut, then the bar wanted to get pulled down, it couldn't so it started to tear it from the top and buckle at the bottom.
Here is the only pic that came out, I have to raise it up again:

Get it replaced at a body shop and chuck the sway bar. I had mine replaced and the shop did an amazing job. The alignment is still perfect too. I like the ASR kit, but they don't make them for G2's.... There are people on this forum who really don't like the ASR kit.

I don't even have a stock bar to replace it with, and I can't stand oversteer, lol.
How much did you pay to have it done?

Re: Subframe Tearout (94civicEX)
$1200
I would not risk it happening again.... I think you mean, you can't stand understeer. You probably want oversteer. Even though neutral is probably the best, but a little bit of oversteer can be nice at times. I'd spend the money and get something like the ASR kit. I don't think anybody has ever snapped the frame with it on.

Wow, that's quite a bit more than everyone else has said in this thread. How did you tearout your subframe before?

Re: Subframe Tearout (94civicEX)
$1200 isn't too bad. It is alot of labor and prepping to do it right. I did one for a customer a couple of months ago and I charged him $750 labor and he bought the parts on his own. I tigged it in and stitched all the way around. Removing the old and prepping was the biggest hassle.

I said hello to a curb doing doughnuts in the snow....
Now the car is a dedicated track car though, and I rarely drive it on the streets since I have a role bar and such. Driving on the track
