Televised Coverage of 2009 25 Hours of Thunderhill

The Northern California office announced today that there will be significant television coverage for the 2009 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Airtime will be purchased on the Versus Channel (formerly Outdoor Life), to air sometime in early 2010. The show will be at least a one-hour production and focus on the action in the race, as well as feature select race teams.

"The plan is to spread coverage around so that each team will get something," said Event Director, Jerry Kunzman. "However, we will have interviews and stories with several feature teams. This will give the production some life to it, and make it more like reality TV."
Check http://www.versus.com/schedule for providers in your local area with the Versus channel. Chances are you already have it.

There are currently two slots still open to become a featured team. NASA is looking for interesting stories to cover, as well as for a team that is willing to help with a little funding to offset production costs. "If no teams come forward with offers to help fund the production costs, the show will be subsidized from the event's budget," said Kunzman. "This gives assurances to all the teams, the production and airing will go on as planned, no matter what. With this in mind, private teams should be able to more easily obtain sponsorship for the 2009 25 Hours of Thunderhill."

Teams interested in being a featured team on the TV show, should send their team information to jerry@drivenasa.com. Incomplete and/ or informal proposals will be accepted at this point.

For more information email Jerry Kunzman at jerry@drivenasa.com or call 510-232-6272

Anybody carpooling from SoCal to the event? A 6-7 hour drive in the DA would be a back breaker. I think I'd be better off flying in to Sacramento or San Francisco. heheh

It's the drive back after the race that's a killer

I'll be there too crewing with the mighty Scion team for the 6 hour Enduro. I'll be there tomorrow evening. I'll be spying your race engineering techniques so don't be taking too many cancer-stick breaks.

Casey - you got a deadly bad habit? Please give it up while you're still young and your body has it's best chance to shake off the damage. I know it's a long way off, and the odds are always inexact, but that's a terrible way to die.

Scott, who was nearly killed by his comparatively harmless ice cream habit...

I was just at thill yesterday trying to scope out Patrick Dempsey. Didn't see him but, I ran into Ed Bergenholtz, super nice guy, I met him back in 1999 in Ennis, TX at a Drag Race. All I said was "thats Ed Bergenholtz" as he passed by me, then he turns around and has a conversation with me as if we've known each other for a long time. Pretty awesome. He's racing a Miata, not sure which team though. The Spoon cars are looking good. I even got to push a M3 into its starting spot! I'll get pics up asap.
