Bringing this back from the Dead -
What kind of FLUID did you guys use?
I have an EPHS pump for a EDM Citroen Saxo. It uses Dexron AFT as the steering fluid from the factory.
Is it OK to use Dexron with the Honda Steering Racks?
Any other fluid you could recommend?
Thanks.

Re: Special Projects - Electro Power Steer
Never thought about it before ... In my case we were using the Honda steering rack and the only difference was we had a Toyota Pump so have always used Honda Power Steering Fluid. As far as I know it's still working fine in my old car after 4 years.
After all this time I still think using the MR11 EPS Pump was one of the best racing mods I ever did.

Re: Special Projects - Electro Power Steer
I was going this route EHPS...I actually have every needed with the exception of the mount for the pump. If anyone is interested in it--im not running autox so no real need for it any longer--let me know!
the pump is very heavy...lol

You shouldn't need one unless you're real busy with the steering or have a quick steering rack. I have a power steering cooler on my Civic, but I'm running a 1.5:1 quickener so I have a bit under 2.5 turns lock-to-lock and I'm pretty much never holding the wheel straight on a rally stage.

Re: Special Projects - Electro Power Steer
reading through this i like the idea
have a question tho
can this be controlled by the AC button?
i dont have ac on my car and it seems like the ac compressor wiring already has all the necessary relays and should have enough amps to power it.
for b series motor.
and can i use stock fluid reservoir with this setup?
with a chipped ecu i have more control over ac engage/disengage
and also wouldnt it be better to just use stock hoses and add the fitings on them, we have a place locally that can put fittings on them.

Re: Special Projects - Electro Power Steer
karcepts also sells a bracket for the mr2 pump. And I'd also recommend running a small cooler. Depending on how you setup your pump, if it runs wide open then you will want a cooler. Mine has lasted 4.5yrs daily driven with occassional track use with a small cooler.

Awesome post; made me go out and get the parts for my own build!
I know this is a old thread but hoping someone can answer :
Is it okay to mount the pump upside down like this? It's mounted the other way on the MR-2, not sure if mounting it like this will affect it's longevity.

Re: Special Projects - Electro Power Steer
What about OPEL CORSA C electric steering pump widely used around the world? I believe this can be difficult to source in USA? I see even controlers for sale on ebay which control OEM OPEL steering ecu, etc.
