heh.
but you don't buy a GNX to road race. any foo knows that. they can be made to go very very very fast down the drag strip and away from stoplights, something our fwd's aren't that great at.
different strokes for different folks. its very cool in its own way.
and they seem to hold their value pretty good too

As stated earlier....
A friend of mine had a new GNX and I drove it a couple of times. It was a one trick pony, but damn it did its one trick extremely well. 0 - 100 was just amazing.
I recall a Car and Driver article on the GNX that said something like... "the front brakes and suspension aren't up to the task, but who cares, the front tires will spend most of their time in the air anyway."

This is how a GNX should have been built. Could you imagine that thing going up the esses and around Oak Tree? </TD></TR></TABLE>
I can. It would make a lot of tweeting noises.
I love those freaking cars.

When I was 16 my neighbor across the street got one. It wasn't a GNX but the regular GN, with black exterior and tan interior. He nicknamed it Darth Vader and it fit like a glove. Every morning I remember him starting that beast up and motor down the street. One day he offered me to drive it and I almost crapped in my pants. Near my house was a stretch of 2 lane road so we went out and I eased into the power-he wanted me to punch it and damn did that thing push me into my seat. One word: "THRUST". I was used to driving my 78 Honda CVCC Wagon and boy did that GN put a smile on my face. It's a shame Buick has been reduced to peddling uninspiring junk. Thanks for the memories!
