I was gonnna go this weekend, but I don't think I'm going; weary it might rain again outt the blue and then there's the whole mud factor at BW and how many FR's will fly off track, bring mud onto the tarmac, and wait on the track workers to clean up their mess, killing off precious track time

I've been wanting to get on the track for quite a while now. Its going down this year for sure. What should I expect to pay for a day of fun? Just lapping, no competition...yet.
and this might be a real noob question, but do I need to contact someone at a track before attending an event, or can you usually just show up?
thanks guys.

You can 'almost' never just show up, most clubs are full a few weeks before the event. You can find registration pages online (or PDF to mail in applications). Usually the event chairperson's email is listed so you can find out if there are still openings in the Novice class.

Did you read the post at the top of this thread?! Yes you need to contact a club first for reservations.

Depending on the track, ~$300 give or take a bit seems to be the mid-range price.

Does anyone know any Honda or 4cyl clubs in the Northeast that sponsor race events. Does anyone have any footage of racing? From inside or outside there car?

Any particular reason you're hung up on a 4-cyl club?
http://www.nasanortheast.org/
They run HPDE's at Pocono South course, Lime Rock and Watkins Glen.

Just cause I have a 4banger want to go with a group with similar intrest and cars. So I could compare times and lines to help improve. I don't want to be exclusive to them but would be nice to go with All Honda group better yet Accords

NASA is probably your best bet. Plus, the fastest line is only going to move turn-in points by a foot or two between your typical FWD and RWD sedans.

Actually, the wide variety of cars that come to these events is a big part of the fun. Fun, as in seeing how how your car stacks up against everything else.
