does buddy club offer a seat back brace, or are you going to find one and make it fit?

I've got the Mugen S1 seat, and the thought of using one of those braces intersted me. I had looked at one at IOportracing.com but, it didn't seem like it would work well with this seat. And to be honest, I'm not sure that I want to touch the seat in any way that might cause structural damage.

I'm probably gonna get flamed like crazy for this, but has anyone ever considered one of these?

http://store.summitracing.com/
search for part number SUM-CSUM101

(I couldn't get it to do a direct link)

A Friend of mine has a pair of these in his CSP '85 CRX and loves them!!

Recaro SPG. Once you get used to it, it's not too bad for street driving.

Default Re: Seats Seats and more Seats (Calculator)

Got a pair of Sparco Evo2's in my car. I wanted a seat that would give me excellent support for lapping days and allow the use of a 5-point harness. I also drive the car on the street on nice days. This seat fit the bill perfectly. Fit me absolutely perfectly (5'5" and 240lbs . . . fat & happy baby!) and a bit loose for my fiance (5'1" and 125lbs), but will fit a wide range of passengers without too much trouble.

Same here. However, I would not recommend these seats if your going to be in the car for longer than 3 hrs.

I drove my car home almost 2 1/2 hours in my Sprint with no problem. I daily in it too. Pretty comfortable.

They hurt my back after about 2 hours. Must just be me. I think more padding would help.

One more vote here for the Sparco Pro 2000. Bolted it right to the floor with sidemounts. No sliders. Dropped the center of mass of my fat *** about 3". Lots of head room.

I have a little pad by OMP with a velcro strip on the back of it and it acts as a little "lumbar" support if you're going to be in the seat for an extending period of time. Regardless of ANY seat you have, if you're going to be sitting in it and upright for a long period of time you need to make sure you have adequate lumbar support, that is very important.

I have a Kirkey seat that's too wide, the rib supports are basically interfering with arm movements, but hey it was free. So that's coming out soon.

Right now I'm looking at the Corbeau FX1. It's kind of heavy at 20lbs, it's not FIA approved so I'll need a seatback brace (got that already), but it's cheap, at $299.00 It's bound to be more compfy then the Kirkey.

It anyone wants to take a look-see:

My car:
Recaro Pole Position

Ive sat in EVO, EVO2. If you are USDM spec body (6'+ around 200+/-10lbs) this IS the seat for you

At the road course, it feels like a la-z-boy, you can just sit and relax

Do you mean the SPG is THE seat for people 6'+, 200lbs +? I'm a measly 5'6", 120 lbs. and was considering a SPG, but if its more for big dudes, I guess I better keep looking.

On a side note, the OMP WRC really caught my eye. I hope I fit somewhat snug in there.

this goes to show you that all persons are not created equal and you really must sit in a seat before you buy. i'm 6'1" 185 and the EVO does not fit me comfortably. i do not feel like i get all the way down into the seat. probably one that was really broken in would be ok but i don't want to take that chance.

the best seat i've been in was a recaro pole position.

it's much easier to add to a seat than take away from it.

no. the SPG is for shorter lighter d00ds. SPG = EVO, Pole Position = EVO2. although the EVO and EVO2 are exactly the same other than size. the SPG and Pole Position are a bit more different than just size. SPG has wear resistant material at the shoulder area and a different shape at the top of the seat. although recrao now makes an SPG xl which is the exact same seat as the SPG but a bit bigger but the price is something like $200 more than the SPG. btw, the pole position is less expensive than the SPG.

Schveet! Thanks a lot for the info Lance! Now, how about the Recaro SPA? Higher supports than the SPG's, and carbon/kevlar construction for ubber blingage!!
